Inner Reflections
Senior Thesis
My work is representational of what is going on in my mind, and how I deal with it. For me, it’s often hard to verbalize what’s happening up there. Art is a way for me to draw out my thoughts, feelings, ideas, and be able to see it visually. This process becomes a therapy, and it can be anywhere from an emotional experience to a relaxing one. Art gives me a way to actively create something that is both visually interesting to look at as well as meaningful.
My artwork has a lot of photography in it, but what I do takes the focus off of the photograph so that it becomes just an element. When looking at the work you won’t see just a photo, you will see all of the different elements together to create a whole image or design.
My work has become mostly digital as the end product. I believe this is from my interest in graphic design. I have taken the idea of graphic design as a communication tool and connected it to myself. I see this connection in my theme of communicating the inner workings of my mind with others and myself.
I reflect internally and project it outward for people to see.
My art is a reflection of me, and my inner self.
